I wear many hats—tech, business, and creative. They’re all part of who I am. Like everyone else, I’m navigating today’s world while staying true to myself.”
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ, UNITED STATES, August 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Any Other Name Records is pleased to announce the release of Lisa Coppola’s new album, Showing Up As Myself.— Lisa Coppola
Produced by multi-GRAMMY®-winning producer Lonnie Park, 'Showing Up As Myself' is a five-song album in which each track has its own musical personality, spanning from Adult Contemporary to Americana. Rather than functioning as five unrelated songs, the album follows an emotional progression through themes of possibility, love, presence, remembrance, nostalgia, and vulnerability, reflecting on what it means to remain grounded in one’s identity through change. Several of the album’s original songs were developed through The Songwriter’s Journey (a guided 9-month creative coaching program) with Brothers Koren, that helped Coppola rediscover her voice, confidence, and songwriting ability.
The album opens with “Life Is What You Make It,” written by Dennis Sy, an uplifting reminder that perspective and choice can reshape the direction of a life. The song introduces the album’s central theme of reclaiming possibility and has connected strongly with listeners through both its recording and visual story.
“Take Me Higher,” written by Coppola with Thorald Koren and Isaac Koren, explores trust, emotional freedom, and the experience of being strengthened by a deeply supportive relationship. Its expansive arrangement reflects the collaborative spirit that runs throughout the album. Released as the album’s second single on May 29, 2026, “Take Me Higher” is currently receiving airplay on AAA and Americana radio stations across the U.S. and in the UK.
The third track is Coppola’s interpretation of “Ooh Baby Baby,” the only cover on the album. The timeless classic, written by William “Smokey” Robinson and Warren “Pete” Moore, features guest vocalists Christine Ghilino and Carmen Nardone and celebrates friendship, vulnerability, and the timeless beauty of close harmony. The effortless vocal blend is rooted in decades of shared performance experience. Coppola toured with Ghilino in the popular show band The Party Dolls and later performed alongside Nardone in Ladies of the 80s. Coppola describes those years on stage as “harmony boot camp,” an invaluable training ground that shaped not only their vocal chemistry, but enduring friendships as well.
The album closes with the reflective tracks “Like We’re In A Simpler Time” and “Stay in the Moment,” continuing the creative partnership while pairing Coppola’s emotionally direct vocals with richly layered arrangements that move between nostalgia, presence, and renewal.
“Showing Up As Myself is about no longer feeling that I have to choose between different parts of who I am. The songs hold strength and vulnerability, hope and reflection, shadow and light. Everything you hear was created by real people bringing their own musicianship, instincts, and emotion into the room,” says Coppola.
“Stay in the Moment” grew from an unexpected source: a blog written by a friend about the loneliness that can accompany life as an executive. During The Songwriter’s Journey, Thorald Koren and Isaac Koren challenged Coppola to move beyond simply observing that loneliness and dig deeply enough to find where she could personally relate to it. From that exploration, the song began to emerge.
“What started with loneliness ultimately became a song about presence and connection. For me, when we are truly in the moment—not worrying about what happened yesterday or racing ahead to what comes next—that’s when we are closest to the Divine. That’s where connection lives,” Coppola says.
Lonnie Park not only produced the album, but contributed extensive instrumentation and vocals throughout the project. Thorald Koren also contributed guitars, bass, keyboards, piano, and background vocals across the original songs, while Isaac Koren contributed background vocals. Kyle Mangels provided the original mixes for the Brothers Koren co-written tracks. 'Showing Up As Myself' is 100% AI-free. Every lyric, melody, vocal, instrumental performance, and production decision was created by human artists working together.
'Showing Up As Myself' has been nominated for Best Americana Album by the World Entertainment Awards. In addition, Coppola’s recent work has achieved international recognition, including chart success with “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) – Remix 2024,” which reached #10 on the iTunes UK Overall Chart, #1 on the UK Easy Listening Chart, and #1 on the Portugal Overall Albums Chart. She also reached #1 on the iTunes World Music Chart as part of Amy McAllister’s Power of One Movement, which went on to win Best Music Group at the 2024 World Entertainment Awards. Additionally, Coppola reached #8 on the Billboard Blues Albums Chart as part of Oliver Sean’s Real Indie Project, while her single “Simon’s Kiss” reached the Top 40 on the U.S. iTunes Rock Chart.
A two-time Josie Music Award winner and longtime Recording Academy voting member, Coppola continues to build momentum with her signature blend of powerful vocals, emotional storytelling, and message-driven artistry.
